This Week's Gold is a curated collection of gold I pick up as I travel around the Internet each week. I share it to help you create a healthy business and life. Follow via Feedly to ensure you don't miss out on any gold. You're tuning in for the 25th edition (though technically, it's the 26th because I didn't count the first TWG - oops)!
THIS WEEK'S GOLD:
- Showing people you appreciate them is one of the most important things in life. I liked Brad Ferris's ideas in 5 Employee Appreciation Ideas You Wished You Thought Of Before. I loved #2 & #5.
- It's hard to sum ourselves up in a sentence or two because we are really complex. That's why elevator pitches can be so hard. Give An Elevator Pitch That Sounds More Like You & Gets You The Job by Skillcrush offers some excellent tips plus 7 before and after elevator pitches.
- When I'm stressed about circumstances, I struggle with blaming external conditions instead of looking at myself. In that vein, Joey Sargeant's Is It You? 10 Questions to Find Out What’s Causing Slow Growth might be what you need to read if you're experiencing slow growth.
- It has been really detrimental for me to (try to) focus on a few things at once. Try as I might, one of the balls that I'm mentally juggling will fall (which usually results in a "Uh, wait, what did you just say? I missed it."). It seems like my worst days are the ones where I try to engage my mind in 4 different tasks, all at the same time. It's best if we single-task instead. Devora Zack gives us some helpful tips in Singletasking: 7 Secrets To Success And Sanity At Work And In Life.
